Online Journal from Hotel Rügen

online-journalI have been writing a journal for a number of years. I find it a comfort when I am feeling a little bit down. After writing I always feel a lot better. I write every day in my journal. It is similar to keeping a diary but the journal is a working document. Some people write in a note book. Others record on to an audio tape and many people including myself keep an online journal. When I first started keeping a journal I always used a note book but find it much easier to record the events of the day and my feelings online.

online-journalI had booked at 2 week holiday hotel on Ruegen to stay on the Island of Rügen which is in the Baltic Sea. Rügen is Germany’s largest island and many Germans holiday there as it is only a three hour drive from Berlin. I had booked to stay the first holiday home on Ruegen week at the Hotel Rügen and the second week at the Baltic Sea Apartments. I have visited the island many times and always book my accommodation at these two places. Rügen is a diverse island of seaside resorts, mile long beaches, quiet little fishing villages, beech forests, and sparkling lakes and has the Jasmund National Park, which is Germany’s smallest national park. The great chalk cliffs of the upper-east coast rise dramatically out of the blue-green sea, and amber can be found all along the Baltic Coast. There are lots of different things to do on the island including water sports, cycling and for those who like steam trains the Racing Roland will get you around Rügen’s main sights and seaside resorts.

On arriving at the Hotel Rügen I was pleased to see that this year the Hotel had opened up a computer room for any guests who needed access to a computer. Although I had brought with me a notebook for writing my journal I much prefer to write it on-line so I paid a visit to the computer room every day. The good thing about keeping a journal is that it helps me to remember something later. It is like a diary but instead of just writing about the day’s events you can use a journal to jot down tasks that you need to do. It is a way to help us clear our minds and concentrate on the important tasks. Keeping an on-line journal has now become part of my routine and I know there is a journaling industry with a range of books, websites, training programmes and specialist software.
